Hi everyone!!! It is my first time to write in a blog and I was thinking, where to start? Valparaiso in Chile was my first choice in conmemoration to the fires raised. So, I thought to show this magical place cataloged as an important cultural area for the world. In addition, why not talk about this beautiful place where Pablo Neruda lived for some time of his life.
Importance of Valparaiso Chile
Before, it was one of the strategic ports in Chile for commerce. Nowadays, it is currently a cultural area with a beautiful architecture and special esthetic in its houses.
First, in October 2018, I did a tour to Valparaiso. For those of us who live in Latin America, it’s not surprise to see neighborhoods located in the summit of hills and houses very close to each other. I found always a commercial area in a residencial zone, which made me feel at home.
In addition, during my tour, I visited this wonderful place with its colorful houses and its history. Through time, Chilean people have been always stood out for their perseverance in adversities. As I walked the areas of Valparaiso, I could see a lot of beautiful murals and graffiti of local artists. Obviously I took me pics with those murals that I loved !!!
Art breathes in its streets, it is impossible to stop admiring such beautiful works that decorate every corner of the neighborhoods and houses of Valparaiso, giving it a bohemian air and a unique style.
Now, if walking and hiking are not for you, no problem!! Valparaiso is popular for very traditional elevators, which are still used by local people for transportation. One of the stations I visited was the Peral. It is a small station, which has a ticket office and its system with pulleys achieving the ascent / descent of the elevator. Do not miss this experience, since the elevator is made of wood !!
Another unmissable place, the house called La Sebastiana, which belonged to Pablo Neruda and is currently a museum. This home shows a good perception in Pablo Neruda and his wife, through a beautiful style. At this house, you can find some antiquities, a beautiful view of the harbor and the Pacific sea in background. And of course, you could not miss the bar area despite the small space of the house.
At this house, you cannot take photos a lot of pics, for this reason I just took a few of them.
Finally, I finished my tour of Valparaiso in la Sebastiana house. If you don’t want to spend a lot of budget in your trip, you can take a free walk through Valparaiso. You can take public transport in Viña del Mar, which is very close.
I say goodbye and I thank you for reading my first article in this blog. Do not stop fulfilling your goals and dreams, remember life is for brave people.
